Brenda Mercer, HR Director, American Animation Studios

September 14, 2007

To whom it may concern:

It has been our benefit to have Steven as an employee of American Animation Studios for just under one year. He came to us straight out of college and immediately put his training to work. He has really put his nose to the grind stone to help meet deadlines and still produce quality work.

In our employ, Steven has worn a couple of different hats from animator, modeler, and rigger. He is a good and quick animator and a very good rigger.

We have enjoyed having Steven as part of our team. We will miss his skills and talent. He was a fun and valuable member of our team.

Thank you,

Brenda Mercer

Corbin Dozier, Trainer and Academy Artist, The Walt Disney Company

September 7, 2007

Dear Sir or Madam,

My name is Corbin Dozier and I am an artist trainer at the Animation Academy at the Disney/MGM Studios in Walt Disney World. I've had the pleasure of training and working with Steven Walker in the Animation Academy which is a drawing class that guests can take to learn how to draw the Disney characters in the animation tour.

I received his portfolio in the summer of 2006. It was a great portfolio with character that emphasized his artistic point of view. When I met him his personality reflected his portfolio. He is passionate about art, animation and the history of both. I trained him for eight days and he was a joy throughout. He was always professional and focused on what the task was. He would work through problems on his own such as learning to draw Donald from a front view that would translate easily for the students. This can be difficult but Steven is tenacious when working out problems.

After two months of work I felt he would make a great trainer. Two new artists came on board and he was supposed to shadow me. When we began training I had so much confidence in him we trained the new artists side by side. Besides training the artists how to draw, he also brought in a Winsor McKay (an early animator) dvd and we discussed the early origins of animation. He was my equal as a trainer and became a natural leader.

His interest in education did not stop with the artists. He put together a power point presentation of a "Basics to computer animation" class for the non-artists that work on the animation tour. The presentation was informative and professional with a syllabus included. He did an excellent job of explaining computer animation to untrained cast members.

He had the pleasure of getting an animation job in Washington state in November of 2006. He is greatly missed and the void he left has not been filled. He is passionate about what he does, professional in the workplace and an asset to any company.

Sincerely,

Corbin Dozier

“Steven was a positive co-workers who's varied interests and background made him a unique character to work with. His eagerness to learn is only surpassed by his eagerness to try. Having to quickly adapt and extend himself beyond his original job requirements, shows his flexibility and range to do get the job done. It was a pleasure to have worked with him, and am positive that with the proper environment he will enrich the projects he's affiliated with.”

“Steven Walker is a focused and talented individual. With a strong background in animation and character design, Steven exemplifies the abilities that any animator would love to have. He hung in there when the times got tough and still gave more than most would. Very open to critique, Steven works hard to make the animations, models, rigs, and pretty much any other element he deals with to a top notch quality. I'd be more than happy to work with Steven Walker again and hopefully in the near future.”
